Setting up Your RFID Device - Zebra MC3300

 
Summary:

This article contains extensive instructions to help the user become comfortable with installing and configuring the MC3300 RFID readers using TagMatiks AT Lite Application. You can download TagMatiks AT Lite from the Google Play store.

Pre-requisites
  • MC3300 Reader should be sufficiently charged.
  • TagMatiks AT Lite should be installed in MC3300 Reader
  • Bluetooth should be enabled in MC3300 Reader

A. Device Information
 

The MC3300 RFID Series is Zebra’s latest family of integrated UHF/RAIN RFID readers, building on proven legacy of leading RFID read performance with a future-ready Android mobility platform. The MC3330xR is for standard-range data capture of RFID tags and barcodes for bulk inventory in retail/hospitality, healthcare, or warehousing/supply chain.

B. Pairing of MC3300 Device with TagMatiks AT Lite Application

1. Open the TagMatiks AT Lite application and login into it.

2. On the Home Page, click on the Settings Icon (at the bottom right side of screen) as shown below

3. To make the connection with MC3300 reader, click on the “Manage Reader” button on the left-Panel of application.

NOTE: Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in the Android device.

4. Then multiple RFID reader options will come on the display.

5.Select “ZEBRA RFID Readers”. Please refer the Picture below:

6. Following that, a new window titled "Readers List" will appear.

7. The reader’s name will be “MC3300RXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”; where “XXXXXXXXXXXXXX” is the 14 digit values of device’s serial number.

E.g. In above image, the value “MC330R20357523022182” is the 14 digit values of device’s serial number.

8. Select the Reader name that appears. A connection between the application and the MC3300 device will be established once you click on the reader's name.

9. Upon successful connection, a pop-up window announcing that "MC330R20357523022182 has connected successfully" will appear; see image below:

C. Taking Inventory of the assets in TagMatiks AT Lite Application

In the TagMatiks AT Lite Application, please first ensure the configuration settings are in sync with the RFID tags.

1. Please click on the Settings Tab and then click on the “Configuration” under “Admin Settings”

2. Next, click on “Asset Configuration” under Asset Tag Format

3. A new window will open, where you can see tabs for Tagging Options, EPC Data and Other Memory Banks. As shown below:

5. To read the RFID tags from MC3300 reader; press “Inventory” button on the bottom left-hand side of application.

6. Then a new window will open, named: “Inventory.”

7. For taking the inventory, click on the any of already created Location; like here it is clicked on "San Francisco".

8. Press the “Start” icon bar button on the AT Lite application, then MC3300 reader will start reading the RFID tags. Please refer below image:

9. The Zebra Reader will stop scanning the tags once you press the "Stop" icon bar button on the application.

10. As a result, the read tag will fill on the application window as illustrated in the figure below.
