Troubleshooting the RFID Device - Newland MT 90 Reader

 
Summary

This article describes common problems you may encounter using Newland MT90 RFID device and helps you to resolve them.

The Possible Issues are

  • Newland MT 90 Reader is Not Configured with Region
  • Newland MT 90 Reader Bluetooth is Not Turned ON.
  • Newland MT 90 Reader Device is already connected with other application.
  • RFID Tags are not getting read in TagMatiks AT Lite application
Newland MT 90 Reader is Not Configure with Region

If the Region is not configured with the Reader, we need to configure the reader for scanning the Tags using the Newland MT 90 Reader in our application.

We have an option to configure our region for Newland MT 90 Reader by using the TagMatiks AT Lite Application.

1. Open the TagMatiks AT Lite Application and login onto it.

2. On the Home Page, click on the Settings Icon (at the bottom right side of screen); as shown below image.

3. Click Manage Reader option to see the list of readers.

4. Select the Connected Newland MT 90 Reader from the reader List page and the application navigates to the Reader Settings Page.

5. Click Configure Region from the Reader Settings Menu

6. Select Region from their list and Set the Frequency and then click back to save the reader region.

7. Once Configured the Region, Reader is automatically connected to the Application.

Newland MT 90 Reader Device is automatically connected with the TagMatiks AT Lite Application after we open the Application

B. Newland MT 90 Reader Bluetooth is Not Turned ON.

If the Bluetooth is turned off, Newland MT 90 Reader will not connect with the application. We need to turn on the Bluetooth in device settings. Open the application and turn on the Bluetooth in Device settings, Reader should automatically connect with TagMatiks AT Lite. We can find the Reader Connection status by following the below steps.

1. Open TagMatiks AT Lite and login onto it.

2. On the Home Page, click on the Settings Icon (at the bottom right side of screen); as shown below image

3. Click Manage Readers for view the Reader Connection status

4. We can view the Reader status as shown in the below image

C. Newland MT 90 Reader is already connected with another application.

If the Reader is already connected with another application, the system does not allow to pair the reader with our TagMatiks AT Lite Application. We should need to close or terminate the connected application.

Open the TagMatiks AT Lite application and login onto it after disconnecting the reader from other applications, Reader should automatically connect with the application.

D. RFID Tags are not getting read in TagMatiks AT Lite

In the TagMatiks AT Lite, first ensure the configuration settings are in sync with the RFID tags.

1. Please click on the Settings Tab and then click on the “Configurations” under “Admin Settings”

2. Please click on “Asset Configuration”.

3. A new window will open, where you can see tabs for Tagging Options, EPC Data and Other Memory Banks as shown below:

4. To modify the behavior of associating RFID tags to assets; please read the article named:"Configured Overview"

5. Once the tag format configuration is properly saved; go to the “Home” page.

6. Press the “Inventory” button - on the bottom left-hand side of the application.

7. Then a new window will open, named: “Inventory.”

8. For taking the inventory, click on a location. For example, the location is selected is “CBE1”

9. Press the trigger button on the Newland MT 90 Reader device; TagMatiks AT Lite application will start reading the RFID tags. Please refer below image:

10. Once the “Scan” button is pressed; then the “RFID” LED starts flashing.

11. This means the Newland MT 90 Reader is in polling state and reading the tags. Same can be seen in the application window. Refer above image.

12. Once you press the trigger button for “Stop”; Newland MT 90 Reader will stop reading the tags.

13. To check the scanned items, tap on the Matched Asset(s), read tags will populate on the application window, as shown in below image.
