This section contains setup information for using the Zebra RFD8500 sled readers with TagMatiks Asset Tracking Lite Software. These readers are similar in operation but different in form-factor. It can be used with a computer which has above Windows® 7/Windows® 8 or Windows® 10.
Please see the RFD 8500 User Manual for a complete understanding of these readers.
You must have a charged Zebra RFD8500 RFID reader to continue to set up steps.
Please follow the steps below to connect your RFD8500 reader:
Press the Power Button to turn the RFD8500 ON. Hold for the Power Button for three Seconds to turn the RFD 8500 OFF
Feature Description
The reader will need to be connected to the computer using the Windows® 10 standard. Add Bluetooth Device process pair to using it with TagMatiks Asset Tracking Lite.
From the Start Menu, select Settings. Then in the PC Settings window, select Devices.
From inside the Devices window, be sure the Bluetooth & other device submenu is selected. Then click on the Add Bluetooth or other device button, as shown in Figure 05.
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned ON.
Another window will open to add a device. Select Bluetooth from this window. Then all the Bluetooth devices in range will be displayed, similar to Figure 06. The Zebra RFD8500 reader will show up as the type (RFD850015356523020840). Be sure that the reader is turned ON.
Tap the RFD8500 device in the List and press the RFD8500 trigger to Pair the Bluetooth LED starts flashing fast. A Beep Sounds when pairing completes successfully.
RFD8500 is now ready to be used by TagMatiks Asset Tracking Lite.
This process will not need to be repeated for this computer.
Open TagMatiks Asset Tracking Lite Software and enter the settings menu.
In the Reader Model dropdown menu, select the Zebra.
After Selection of the Reader Click “Connect” then Save
