Solving Import Tools Error

This article covers the various issues and how to solve them while importing the assets into TagMatiks AT Lite.

Pre-requisites
  • Stable Internet Connection
  • Desktop Computer with modern web browser like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari
  • Software like Microsoft Excel or any other (.xls/.xlsx / .csv) editor

This document is divided into multiple sections/Issues that might be faced while importing the assets into TagMatiks AT Lite:

A. Formatting Issue

There are certain rules of formatting of the data that must be followed while importing the assets into the templates available at https://atl.tagmatiks.com/ in order to avoid errors. The following are templates which are available:

For Asset Type :

Asset Type String Yes Yes 50 Tools
Description String - - 250 Available Tools

 

Data Type : String - This means that the data that is to be entered should be Alphanumeric in nature.

Asset Type : It is a mandatory & unique field that means that the no two asset types can have same Name/Value where as description field is neither mandatory nor unique

Maximum Length : The number of alphanumeric characters that can be entered in the above mentioned fields are 50 for Asset type can 250 for description.

For Asset Category :

Asset Category : It is a mandatory & unique field that means that the no two asset categories can have same Name/Value where as description field is neither mandatory nor unique

Maximum Length : The number of alphanumeric characters that can be entered in the above mentioned fields are 50 for Asset Category can 250 for description.

For Manufacturer

Manufacturer Code : It is not mandatory but a unique field that means that no two manufacturer codes can have the same Code/Value. Maximum length is 20 characters for this field.

Manufacturer Name : It is a mandatory and unique field with maximum length 50.

For Part Master :

Data Type : Boolean - This means that the data to be entered can either be TRUE or 1 for whether the Asset can expire or Has Serial or False or 0 for the Asset that can expire or Has Serial.

Part Number : It is a mandatory and unique field with a maximum length of 50 characters which can be alphanumeric in nature.

For Employee :

Employee Number : It is a mandatory and unique field with a maximum length of 50 characters which can be alphanumeric in nature.

First Name & Last Name : They are mandatory fields with a maximum length of 50 characters which can be alphanumeric in nature.

Location Name & Display Code : They are mandatory & unique field with maximum length of 50 characters which can be alphanumeric in nature.

Note : While entering the location details, the first location that should be entered is the parent location only after that other locations can be entered else error will occur.

Expiry Date : It should be noted that the format of the date should always be MM/DD/YYYY

Mandatory Field Mapping

After the user has entered the information in the templates provided by the TagMatiks website, it is ready to be uploaded on the website. Click Browse to upload and file and finally click Import Data to bring the data in.

All the header fields should be mapped with their respective fields before clicking “Stage for Import”.

C. Wrong File Extension

It should be noted that TagMatiks AT Lite supports .XLS, .XLSX & .CSV formats for uploading the Asset details and only files in these formats will be imported without error.
